My New Outside Blog: Do

Do

Frog at Dallas Arboretum

Action speak louder than words.  A foundation for our business - Don't just talk a good talk but actually emply what comes out of your mouth into motion.

We continually get bombarded with the list of Don't do or things to avoid.  To be into positive thinking avoid the Don't Do to just Do.

  DO

  • Get up with purpose and a plan each business day.
  • Respect your time and put distractions away to when you can conveniently address.
  • Prospect - make that a top priority each day - have a plan of action of what touch/task.
  • Fit in time to keep updated on industry information by attending office meetings, reading the NAR website news, etc.
  • Keep in front of your past clients by continuing to call and send them information.
  • Return phone calls and emails.
  • Listen before reaction.
  • Be thoughtful to others in the way you talk.
  • Be professional - from how you dress to how you address others.
  • Be on time.
  • Reach for your goals and not let setbacks take you off track from this journey.

Be a Doer not a Talker.  You will find that "I can do" attitude will take you towards the outcome of your day and achievement of your goals.  Besides you will just like yourself much better!

Ahhh, Thank you, one of my favorite sayings, "action speak louder than words" ranks right up with "the buck stops here."

Great post, Connie. Your list is "spot on". Actions DO speak louder than words. And I'm sure our clients (& colleagues!!) would all appreciate us following through on the things we say we're going to do!! :)

Thank you all for your comments and kind words - we just DO need to hear and see what we in our heart know we should be DOing.

David - I love "the buck stops here" it takes ownership of a situation and control of you are the one to make things happen.

Michael - thank you for the kind words.  I write to inspire myself into correct thinking and hope other can glean a pearl along the way.

Amy - thank you for reading.

Kristin- love that frog too - it is at the Dallas Arboretum in a children's area.  Kids come with bathing suits & some very little ones unprepared just go naked - I avoided that shot.  Thanks as always for stopping off with your comments & loyal following!

Fred - I just hate the list and the talk and then you look back - that is all that is achieved.  Words and nothing to show.  You have a wonderful day as well and great weekend!

Brenda - I imagine all will agree but we do find ourselves at time just not putting things into motion.  Glad you enjoyed my post.

DO have a wonderful weekend!

My granddaughter loves playing in the water there at the Park. Amd my mom taught me "I can't can't do nothing" so I learned "I can" early in life. Your post says it very nicely, Connie.

Teral - isn't the Arboretum a treasure for young to elderly.  So pretty - love the weddings held there as well when we have better temperatures.  Thanks for visiting!!

Business plan and listen before reaction. Two I really need to work on, again.

Than - No matter how many times I am reminded .. I still need to get on task and work on that business plan.  Listening is a skill I learned early on that and listen to all sides of the story and just know that the answer generally lies somewhere between.  Thanks for your comment!

Doing the right things and just the sheer doing and not sitting around thinking about something Connie will carry you far in business and in life. Great list.
